The City of Buhl is a town of 4200 nestled in South Central Idaho along the Thousands Springs Scenic Byway. Buhl is approximately 16 miles west of the City of Twin Falls on Highway 30. It was founded on April 17, 1906 and named after Frank H. Buhl of Sharon, Pennsylvania, a major investor in the Carey Act project. This project introduced large-scale irrigation to the Magic Valley in the early 20th Century.

Buhl is the home of Buhl High School Indians, Buhl Middle School Raiders and Popplewell Elementary School Indians. Buhl has an annual Sagebrush Celebration on the 4th of July which is coordinated by the Buhl Chamber of Commerce with a fun run, parade and activities in the city park. The event is concluded by a wonderful fireworks show funded by the city.

Buhl is also home to many unique local businesses and restaurants that are favorites of the local citizens and to visitors from far and wide.

Known as the Trout Capital of America, Buhl has a large number of hatcheries producing trout that goes all over the world.
